Topps' first NFL flagship set since 2015 went on sale August 21, and the All Kings insert is where the money went first. Jeremy (@footballcardfun) posted a running eBay scoreboard the next day: Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes at $5,000 each, Caleb Williams and Jahmyr Gibbs at $2,000, another Gibbs at $1,500, Trevor Lawrence at $1,100, Ty Simpson at $1,000 and Bo Nix at $700. Sports Card Investor posted the same $5,000 Mahomes sale independently the same day. It is the card-level follow-through to the box-level heat we covered yesterday, when jumbo hobby boxes were listing well above MSRP.

The poster says the only flaw is a small mark on the name set. Bidding on a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 8 reached $2,165,000 as Heritage's Summer Platinum sale closed, per Darren Rovell

Rovell reported the bid on the Mantle #311 in PSA NM-MT 8 (cert 02010951) at $2,165,000 as Heritage's Summer Platinum Night sale closed. That is above the $2,112,000 benchmark set on the same card and grade in 2021. He also flagged the MBA grading-population sticker on the holder, a piece of paperwork that did not exist five years ago. Heritage's own results page is not reachable from here, so this stands as Rovell reported it, a closing bid rather than a confirmed hammer price with premium.

Stern reported the Piedmont Cigarettes-backed Wagner (SGC Authentic, cert 8262486) past $5.8 million, ahead of the $5.1 million paid earlier this year for a PSA 1 example. Only three Piedmont-backed Wagners are known. The holder carries an evidence of trimming designation, which collectors largely discount here because no Piedmont Wagner was factory cut; they are believed to have started life as printer's scrap. As with the Mantle, this is the bid as reported, not a confirmed final price.
