Mover of the Day

Pete Crow-Armstrong hits 40, first Cub since 2005

No Cub had reached 40 home runs in a season since Derrek Lee, and the collector market was already moving on him before he got there.

Number 40 came in the fifth inning against the Marlins at loanDepot park on September 5, and it puts the Cubs center fielder in a room with Billy Williams and Ernie Banks. He sits one behind Kyle Schwarber for the NL lead, and NBC Chicago has him as the clubhouse favorite for NL MVP over Shohei Ohtani. The collector side was moving well before this: ChiCitySports, citing Sports Collectors Daily, reported on August 21 that more than 1,000 Crow-Armstrong cards were selling on eBay most days, over 1,800 on August 6 alone, with his Card Ladder index up more than 44% across the prior three months. Our September 5 edition carried the same market read from the trade press, so the milestone, not the market, is the new part.

Checklist Insider states a September 1 presale and a September 30 on-sale date for 2026 Topps Chrome Tennis at $94.99 a hobby box.

Checklist Insider dates 2026 Topps Chrome Tennis to a September 30 on-sale

Presales opened September 1 at $94.99 a hobby box, which we covered that day with no on-sale date attached. Checklist Insider now puts the general release at September 30. Two autographs a box, a 200-card base set with more than 30 rookies, cut down from 300 cards the year before. New inserts Destiny, Solus, and World Number 1 join returning Aces, Captured, and YouthQuake, with over 190 signers across two autograph tiers.

Collectosk states a Panini-announced release of September 3 with the product live in Panini Deutschland's shop; Checklist Insider's page for the same set still reads TBA.

Collectosk says Panini released 2025-26 Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga Soccer on September 3

Collectosk cites a Panini-announced release date of Thursday, September 3, with boxes live afterward at Panini Deutschland's shop and specialist retailers. One caveat worth carrying: Checklist Insider's page for the same product still lists the date as TBA, so this is one source's date until Panini's own site states it. The set is 100 base cards covering all 14 clubs in Germany's women's league, at least seven cards a club, with hobby boxes running around 99 euros and averaging three autographs, nine parallels, and eight inserts across lines including Breakthrough, Clinical, Next Level, and Pure Class.

Blowout Buzz's First Buzz post states an October 30 release and a three-hit box; Leaf's own product page confirms the format but has not posted a date.

Blowout Buzz dates 2026 Leaf Ultimate Sports to October 30, three hits a box

Blowout Buzz's First Buzz post puts the release at October 30, with three hit cards per box and 10 boxes to a case. Leaf's own product page confirms that box format but still lists the release as Coming Soon with no date posted, so October 30 is the trade press's date and not yet the brand's. Autograph subjects named in the post include Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Peyton Manning, and Ronaldo Nazario, across lines like Ultimate Icons, Ultimate Heroes, and Signature Relics.

Sports Card Investor posts a $37,500 sale for a 2025 Topps Dynasty Nick Kurtz 1/1 auto with a Nike Swoosh patch

A big sale for the Big Amish 馃挭 This 2025 Topps Dynasty Nick Kurtz 1/1 Auto Nike Swoosh Patch just sold for $37.5K 馃憖

A game-used Swoosh on a Dynasty 1/1 is about as loud as a patch gets, and this one is shown raw in a one-touch, no grade and no cert. The post names no marketplace and no date, and this is not the $516,000 Kurtz card from January, which was a 2025 Topps Chrome Update MLB Debut Patch Auto 1/1.

Footy Headlines reports early word that the Ajax 27-28 kit collection will be 'phenomenal'

馃挘馃挘馃挘 BREAKING: Ajax 27-28 Kit Set to Be 'Phenomenal':

The linked piece runs on unnamed early information: a home shirt keeping the white-red-white scheme with 'bespoke twists and features never before seen on an Ajax shirt,' an away kit aimed at the popularity of the classic Ajax releases, and a third kit called very promising. Nothing is shown, nothing is dated, and the season it lands in is the one where Ajax takes a new front-of-shirt sponsor after the Ziggo deal ends.

Best Cards Ever posts a $102,000 sale for a 2018 National Treasures Red Josh Allen rookie NFL Shield auto 1/1

+$82K in 6 years?! 馃く The 2018 National Treasures Red Josh Allen Rookie NFL Shield Auto 1/1 sold for $102,000 recently. It last sold for just $20.1K back in December of 2020.

The account puts the same card at $20,100 in December 2020, so the gap is the point of the post. No listing is linked, the sale is dated only as recent, and the card is shown raw. This is a separate and much smaller card than the $1.7 million Josh Allen National Treasures rookie patch auto that Alt reported selling privately in our August 8 edition.
