The #311 Mantle, graded PSA NM-MT 8 with an MBA Silver designation, sold on August 21 for $3.721 million, a public record for the card in that grade. Heritage describes the Silver tag as putting it among roughly the five strongest of the 35 examples graded PSA 8, and that is the whole argument for the price: a different PSA 8 Mantle sold at Goldin about two months ago for $1.83 million. Same card, same number on the flip, and a spread of nearly $1.9 million between them, decided by centering, print quality, and eye appeal.
